Although Oscar Ward is retired from the building and construction materials industry, it has not stopped him from diligently helping to build a better Irving, Texas.

On any given Saturday morning, it’s likely you’ll find Oscar sporting his neon green Keep Irving Beautiful safety vest with a litter picker in one hand and trash or recycling bag in the other. You’ll most likely see Oscar along North Belt Line Road with other members of the Sunrise Rotary Club, where he’s an active participant of the ‘Adopt-a-Spot’ program. This year-round grassroots program benefited from more than 5,600 volunteer hours during 2017, with volunteers removing more than 3,500 bags of litter from local neighborhoods and public spaces.

Oscar is an advocate and great friend to Keep Irving Beautiful. His tenacity consistently has him seeking out ways for the city to be more eco-friendly and recognizing local companies that go above and beyond in the sustainability space. Oscar and his wife Kaye are familiar faces around Irving and have a long history of actively participating in government, community and civic organizations. In addition to Oscar’s duties as a councilman, he is a member of several charitable organizations, including AMBUCS, Irving Heritage Society, the Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce and Irving Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Oscar is always eager to get his hands dirty and #DoBeautifulThings for Irving!
