The Great American Cleanup® has wrapped up for the year, and we are excited to share some highlights from our nationwide efforts. May 3 – Shoutout to the more than 40 volunteers who joined forces in a transformative tree-planting initiative on Arbor Day in Indianapolis! A total of 84 native trees now grace the grounds of Jake Greene Park, thanks to the partnership of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. and the generous sponsorship of NextGear Capital by Cox Automotive. They joined Cox Enterprises colleagues in Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and Chesapeake, VA who all took time out this Earth Month to #DoBeautifulThings with local Keep America Beautiful affiliates.

#AlbanyState students participated in the Great American Cleanup with Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful. The Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program, which takes place annually in thousands of communities nationwide.
May 22 – A huge shoutout to Keep America Beautiful affiliate Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful for their 5th Annual #GreatAmericanCleanupevent in April! Throughout the day, over 250 visitors recycled batteries, hazardous waste, hard plastic, and more – including 620 tires. 
With their partners at Rock Bridge Community Church, they collected eyewear for African mission work, hosted a blood drive, gathered canned goods for the Voluntary Action Center, and offered free paper shredding. What an amazing effort to create cleaner, greener, more beautiful communities!
May 30 – Shoutout to our amazing affiliate Keep Waco Beautiful for their incredible work on the Creating Green Neighborhoods project – and their first ribbon cutting! 
With support from the Keep America Beautiful Martin Luther King Jr. Community Improvement grant, Keep Texas Beautiful Our Texas Our Future grant, and sponsorship from Baylor University Solid Gold Neighbor, they’ve collaborated with the National Women in Agriculture Association and the community to transform Waco into a more vibrant place to live.
We can’t wait to see more beautification projects come to life throughout Waco!

Round of applause for our affiliate, Keep Harrisburg Beautiful (Tri County Community Action) for another successful Great Harrisburg Litter Cleanup! This year they had 425 volunteers that cleaned up 5 tons of litter AND 6 tons of tires from Harrisburg’s Uptown, Midtown and Allison Hill neighborhoods!! A special thanks to all their partners, volunteers, and Tri County Community Action staff, who work hard to keep Harrisburg Beautiful.

The sculpting has begun! Meet Della Meredith Chainsaw Carvings who has begun a tree sculpture from the large dead Oak at the Village Green aka the Gazebo on Hwy 3 at 45th Street. We can tell you that this piece of art is going to be cute and fun, you’ll want to get a photo with it. Stayed tuned for updates on the progress.
