Florists and nurseries giving away flowers after cancellations

Special events are being canceled across the country due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, leaving florists and nurseries with a surplus of fresh-cut flowers. Rather than letting the flowers go to waste, members of the floral community are spreading joy and finding creative ways to re-purpose the blooms. A Utah nursery that was stuck with hundreds of thousands of potted flowers is giving away as many of the plants as it can — with the help of volunteers and United Parcel Service (UPS) drivers.
