Keep America Beautiful has embraced a remote work policy to attract the best and brightest from all over America. If you live within 60 miles of Stamford, you will work at our national headquarters. Keep America Beautiful’s national headquarters is walking distance from the Stamford Metro-North train station with a shuttle bus also available. The office features a free parking garage and gym in the building and is conveniently located near great restaurants, bars, shopping and beautiful Mill River Park.

We are seeking an Events Specialist that will make Keep America Beautiful programs and initiatives come alive through interactive experiences – both digital and physical.  The successful candidate understands how to craft and deliver content that is impactful and lands the message across multiple audiences. This is a rare opportunity to help transform an iconic, almost 70-year-old brand! 

Reporting to the CMO this role plays an integral role in the organization’s storytelling. The Special Events Manager will develop, manage, and execute special events of the highest quality, impact, and visibility, including annual events such as Vision for America™, National Conference, TrashDash™ and defining new events for signature initiatives like the Great American Cleanup® and America Recycles Day®.   

Responsibilities may include the creation of new events at both an affiliate, and a national level.  This role is responsible for event outreach, marketing, and logistics. 

What You Will Bring, Do, and Own 

  • Drive significant increase in fundraising revenue through events, communications, volunteerism, community-based activities, and seasonal and annual campaigns.  
  • Develop materials, communications, and promotions of events and individual giving campaigns.  
  • Define and deliver on fundraising roadmap targets including renewable gifts, new donors, and leads. 
  • Develop strong and collaborative working relationships with members of the development team and throughout the organization to best understand the Keep America Beautiful mission and programs, and effectively communicate this information to the public.  
  • Define success targets with hard key performance indicators (KPIs) e.g., leads, revenue, participants, volunteers. 
  • A rigorous annual schedule: 
    • February: National Conference 
    • March-June: Great American Cleanup 
    • Summer: local activities/peer-to-peer  
    • September: TrashDash 
    • October: Vision for America 
    • November 15: America Recycles Day 
    • Giving Tuesday/Year End appeal 
  • You will create events that supports the mission and strategic plan  
  • You will work alongside the CMO on developing and executing individual giving and events strategy

Experience and Certifications You Will Need 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree a plus 
  • 10+ years of event management and development experience. 
  • Familiarity with specialized nonprofit industry accounting practices, reporting requirements, and procedures

We are seeking an exceptional fundraising professional to join our development team to secure significant
philanthropic support from national and regional foundations and federal and state government agencies.
As a leader on the Development team, the Director, Foundation and Government Grants (“Director”) will report
directly to the Senior Director, Foundation and Government Grants or the Chief Development Officer. This role is
responsible for developing effective fundraising strategies; conduct partner research, cultivation, solicitation,
management, and stewardship; write, submit, and negotiate grant applications; and direct recognition and
benefits related to foundation and government partner commitments. The Director will be expected to exceed
annual revenue targets by identifying and securing multiple six- and seven-figure foundation and government
grants and partnerships.

What You Will Bring, Do, and Own
● You will support and enhance the creation of the Keep America Beautiful Communities strategy,
timeline, budget, and presentation materials.
● You will collaborate with program, marketing, development teams and KAB affiliates to create fundable
packages, audit existing assets and benefits, and create new assets and benefits.
● You will develop strong and collaborative working relationships with members of the organization
to best understand the KAB mission and programs, and effectively articulate this information to
donors and the public.
● You will own the overall relationship management responsibility (day-to-day management of accounts
managed by Regional Directors) to ensure foundations and government partnerships are activated,
stewarded, and renewed.
● You will own the maintenance of a portfolio and move prospects through the “Moves Management”
process, recording all activities in Salesforce.
● You will own, establish, and manage strategies, budgets, annual work plan with qualitative goals,
benchmarks and reporting based on departmental objectives.
● You will research, identify, solicit, and secure prospective foundation and government six- and sevenfigure
grant partners in support of KAB movement and strategic priorities including, but not limited to, the Keep America Beautiful Communities initiative and programming.
● You will meet or exceed the minimum annual fundraising target for the current fiscal year.

We are seeking an exceptional fundraising professional to join our development team to work with
corporations and local Keep America Beautiful affiliates to support the mission of Keep America Beautiful
through program support, philanthropic support, cause marketing, and sponsorships as a Keep America
Beautiful Communities Co-lead.

As a leader on the Development team, the Director, Corporate Initiatives – Keep America Beautiful Communities
Co-Lead (“Director/Co-Lead”) will report directly to the Senior Director, Development or the Chief Development
Officer. The Keep America Beautiful Communities initiative is a multi-year, multi-stakeholder collaborative
initiative to Clean and Green America by 2025. The goal is to raise $125 million to Beautify and Unify
Communities across the country to Transform the Nation. The Director/Co-Lead will be expected to meet annual
revenue targets by identifying and securing corporate and corporate foundation gifts and partnerships, as well
as manage relationships with these partners with assistance from a Regional Director or Partnership Manager.

What You Will Bring, Do, and Own
● You will own the generation of corporate and corporate foundation partnerships resulting in revenue,
marketing exposure, and other benefits for Keep America Beautiful, its Communities Initiative, and the
Keep America Beautiful national affiliate network.
● You will cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective 6-7-figure corporate donors/partners to support Keep
America Beautiful and the movement through sponsorships, program and philanthropic support, and
cause marketing.
● You will collaborate work in conjunction with Regional Directors, COO, and affiliates to ensure
partnerships are activated, relationships are managed appropriately, and stewardship plans are
implemented all resulting in contract renewals. (Day-to-day management of partnership managed by
Regional Director.)
● You will develop, support, and enhance the creation of the Keep America Beautiful Communities
strategy, timeline, budget, and presentation materials; audit existing assets/benefits, create new
assets/benefits with program, marketing, development teams and affiliates to create
packages/opportunities for each component of the Keep America Beautiful Communities initiative.
● You will own the research, cultivation, and securing of event fundraising support including Keep America
Beautiful webinar series, National Conference, annual Vision for America Award event, employee
engagement activities, P2P, and special events sponsors.
● You will interact with Keep America Beautiful board members and senior leadership representatives to
cultivate corporate partnerships, create best strategy and connectivity for each prospect; Lead and/or
support meetings/presentations with prospects; Act as development lead for Keep America Beautiful
Communities advisory team; Work with all appropriate team members to maximize strategy to achieve
$280 million 10-year goal.

Who You Are
● You have the ability to conceptualize and describe funding needs in a way that is compelling to
prospects, donors and other stakeholders.
● You have a keen ability to ideate and develop comprehensive donor concept papers and proposals, and
create and deliver PowerPoint presentations.
● You have a proven track record in supporting organizational leadership in donor cultivation,
communications, and events.
