Henkel and Nestle Waters North America joined earlier this month more than 250 public and private organizations in signing the “Global Commitment,” which aims to make 100 percent of their plastic packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. Fulfilling the goals of the pact — whose signatories include a number of major packaging-goods producers and retailers, governments and nonprofits — would significantly reduce plastic waste, one of the world’s largest sources of pollution.
