BIO: A nationally recognized environmental litigator, Steve has practiced nearly 40 years at Kilpatrick’s Winston-Salem office where he serves as the managing partner. During his career, he has volunteered his time to worthy community and civic causes to improve the quality of life of those in the Triad and beyond. Steve has served various organizations, including the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Arts Council, the Winston-Salem Alliance, Forsyth Futures, and the Board of Trustees for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to name just a few. As a longtime advocate for the arts, Steve received the N.C. Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award in 2023. Steve, who earned his B.A. and J.D. from Wake Forest, also taught at Wake Forest University School of Law as an adjunct professor and coached its National Trial Court Team.
