Keep America Beautiful Names David Whitehouse to National Board of Directors; Board Member Brian Garofalow Named Vice Chair
New board leaders brings deep expertise in digital transformation, brand strategy, consumer engagement, and scalable execution
STAMFORD, Conn., May 20, 2026 — Keep America Beautiful®, the nation’s leading community improvement nonprofit organization, today announced the appointment of David Whitehouse, Senior Vice President at Coupa, to its national Board of Directors. The organization also announced that current board member Brian Garofalow, Chief Executive Officer of Skullcandy, has been named Vice Chair of the Board.
“We are pleased to welcome David Whitehouse to the Keep America Beautiful Board and to recognize Brian Garofalow’s expanded leadership role as Vice Chair,” said Jennifer Lawson, President and CEO of Keep America Beautiful. “David brings deep experience in digital transformation, operational design, and helping organizations translate strategy into measurable results. Brian’s expertise in brand building, consumer engagement, and organizational leadership has already been a tremendous asset to Keep America Beautiful. Together, they strengthen our ability to expand our reach, deepen our impact, and continue building cleaner, greener, and more beautiful communities nationwide.”
David Whitehouse is a Washington, D.C. metro–based consulting and digital transformation leader with a 20-year track record of leading complex client delivery, expanding practices, and contributing as a visible thought leader and speaker. His core strength is bridging strategy and execution — designing digital strategies and then overseeing the successful implementation of the operating model, product, and technology required to deliver results. He is currently a Senior Vice President at Coupa, where he helps organizations translate digital strategy into measurable business and customer outcomes. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Salesforce and Publicis Sapient and served in global client delivery leadership positions at Big Four firms. He holds an MBA from the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Villanova University.
“I’m honored to join the Keep America Beautiful Board of Directors and to support an organization with such a powerful legacy of bringing people, communities, businesses, and civic leaders together,” Whitehouse said. “Keep America Beautiful’s mission requires both local engagement and scalable execution, and I’m excited to contribute my experience in digital transformation, operating models, and delivery discipline to help the organization increase its reach and impact.”
Brian Garofalow is the Chief Executive Officer of Skullcandy, the leading youth lifestyle headphone brand with a heritage in action sports and a strong connection to consumers ages 15 to 25. Previously, he served as Chief Marketing Officer of Dometic Group AB, where he oversaw group marketing strategy, the company’s brand portfolio, and demand creation across its global businesses. Before Dometic, Brian was Chief Marketing Officer of Igloo Coolers, the iconic American cooler manufacturer. He spent the first 20 years of his career in brand management roles within the action sports industry, primarily within the Boardriders organization, including DC Shoes, RVCA, and Element Skateboards.
“Keep America Beautiful has an extraordinary ability to inspire action at the community level while engaging national partners in meaningful ways,” Garofalow said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as Vice Chair and to continue supporting the organization’s work to grow participation, strengthen partnerships, and make it easier for people across the country to care for the places they call home.”
The appointments come as Keep America Beautiful continues to expand national engagement through its affiliate network, corporate partnerships, and the Greatest American Cleanup™, a nationwide effort leading up to America’s 250th birthday in 2026. Together, the organization’s board leaders bring expertise across business, nonprofit leadership, technology, consumer engagement, sustainability, and community improvement.
