Keep Forsyth County Beautiful commemorates 25 years of keeping its community clean, green, and beautiful.

To celebrate its milestone anniversary, Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) hosted an awards ceremony in October. Over 100 guests enjoyed a buffet and “Celebration Stations,” showcasing KFCB’s history and four core areas: Litter Prevention, Recycling, Water Quality, and Greening. KFCB also distributed awards to community partners, including local schools, individuals, and businesses.

KFCB became an official affiliate of Keep America Beautiful in June 1994. It is also an affiliate of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation.

Though KFCB has been a staple in the community for decades, they have big plans to continue their efforts.

“Our future dream for 2020 is to do a piggyback on what we are hoping will roll out as a statewide litter campaign,” said Tammy Wright, manager of environmental programs for the Forsyth County Recycling and Solid Waste Department in a recent article. “Everybody just imagine a litter-free Forsyth County. Not just a little bit, but litter-free, and that’s where we want the bar to be.”

The title sponsor of the gala was Bryan Properties. Other sponsors included Cumming Cigar Co., Keller Williams Realty Community Partners, The Carleton Family, Crystal Johnson Health, Keystone Millworks, Philoteck, Universities Forever.
