Xylem Employees Plant 30 Trees at Stamford’s Cove Island Park as Part of Global Month of Service

STAMFORD, Conn. (Oct. 24, 2019) – Employee volunteers from Xylem Inc. (NYSE: XYL), a leading global water technology company dedicated to solving the world’s most challenging water issues, teamed up with Stamford-based national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful® and Stamford Mayor David Martin to plant 30 trees at Stamford’s Cove Island Park.

The tree planting initiative is part of Xylem’s Global Month of Service in which Xylem colleagues and stake-holders partner with local community organizations on environmental and sustainability initiatives during the month of October. Xylem and the Keep America Beautiful Employee Engagement team worked with the Stamford Parks Department on the strategic tree planting initiative with the objective of protecting local water resources.

“As a leading global water technology company, we believe that means we have a special responsibility, and opportunity, to help solve intensifying water challenges around the world,” said Joe Vesey, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Xylem. “Adding to the tree canopy at Cove Island Park is one way for our employees to contribute to the health of our neighboring communities.”

Xylem’s corporate citizenship and social investment program, Xylem Watermark, works with nonprofit partners such as Keep America Beautiful, leveraging the expertise, time and passion of Xylem’s employees and stakeholders to address a spectrum of community-level water challenges – including the management of watersheds and green spaces like Cove Island Park.

“Our City’s beautiful parks and our passionate community members are part of what make Stamford great,” said Stamford Mayor David Martin. “I want to thank the volunteers from Keep America Beautiful and Xylem for working with our Parks Department and dedicating their time today. The trees they’ve planted today will ensure the beauty of our parks continues for future generations to come.”
