For the ultimate Earth Day (it’s April 22!) workout, try this fitness trend: picking up trash while running.

A combination of the words “pick up” and “jogging,” the exercise originated in Sweden, where runners beautify the streets while they burn calories. (A bonus? Squatting down to grab a piece of trash sneaks in an extra leg workout.)

Get in on the action by toting a grocery bag and some rubber gloves on your next jog. Or, if you prefer to plog in a group, visit the Keep America Beautiful website, kab.org, to find organized activities in your area.
