Why become an affiliate?
Since 1953, Keep America Beautiful has provided a proven, successful replicable framework for neighborhoods, municipalities, and organizations across the nation that seek to End Littering, Improve Recycling and Beautify America’s communities. This framework is used by our affiliates to effect positive, long-lasting, meaningful change in their communities, whether small or large.
Our affiliates deliver innovative, locally-focused programs that address individual community needs. We provide a state-of-the-art communications and resource platform for our affiliates to share learning and best practices. The cloud-based hub allows affiliates to easily contact each other, upload and download resources, or reach out to our dedicated support staff members.
Keep America Beautiful Encourages Participation in National CleanUp Day on September 17
Whether it’s a major cleanup with thousands of participants or a small group effort of a dozen or less, all participants make a major difference by participating in National CleanUp Day. Held annually on the third Saturday every September, National CleanUp Day addresses the issue of excess waste and litter across America.

Keep America Beautiful honors the life and legacy of Roger Weldon Powers, who passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona on August 8, 2022 at the age of 89.

In addition to our regularly scheduled training meetings and webinars, Keep America Beautiful holds an annual National Conference, as well as many State Affiliate led Conferences where training opportunities are abundant.
Online Collaboration Tools
Keep America Beautiful affiliates are always in action, and often look for ongoing support in the form of easy-to-use and share toolkits, educational materials, and event how-to’s. The online collaboration tool suite developed exclusively for KAB’s affiliates allows for easy access to hundreds of resources and the opportunity to learn more about litter, recycling, beautification and restoration programs.
Community Grants, In-Kind Donations, and Special Initiatives
Keep America Beautiful’s partnerships with businesses provide significant funds and products to our affiliates that can be used for creating and expanding local community improvement programs. Recent national partner initiatives include grants for beautification, community greening, litter prevention, recycling (including bins), and more. In the last several years, KAB affiliates, through a competitive process, have received grants and in-kind services valued at more than $12 million. Get more information on our grant programs.
