More than 1,000 Anheuser-Busch employees and wholesaler partners joined Keep America Beautiful, Keep Louisiana Beautiful and Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser to support this year’s host city of Anheuser-Busch’s annual SAMCOM conference.

Anheuser-Busch team members came together with Keep America Beautiful to beautify New Orleans’ community environments through various activities, including building picnic tables and painting murals.

“Anheuser-Busch and our wholesalers have a strong tradition of giving back to our local communities,” said President and CEO Michel Doukeris. “This project today is just one of the many ways our business partners come together to give back, and we are grateful to our wholesalers and employees who made this great event possible.”

The event kicked off with Michel and Katja Zastrow presenting Keep America Beautiful with a check for $120,000 on behalf of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation. Lieutenant Governor Nungesser also joined the effort to support the New Orleans community by taking part in the service project.

“We are thrilled to have so many volunteers coming together today to give back to the great city of New Orleans,” said Nungesser. “We would especially like to thank Anheuser-Busch for the many ways they support communities across Louisiana, from recent water donations during Hurricane Harvey to the important project we are celebrating today.”

The service project is part of Anheuser-Busch’s annual Sales and Marketing Communications Conference, which brings thousands of employees and business partners to New Orleans from across the country. For many years, the service project has kicked off the annual wholesaler meeting and has become a staple of the conference that Anheuser-Busch partners look forward to every year.

Since 1997, Anheuser-Busch and its charitable foundation have donated more than $570 million to charitable organizations, including those that support military personnel, education, the environment, economic development and disaster relief. The work that Anheuser-Busch does in communities around the country is a key part of its commitment to take practical actions that help build a Better World. As an Anheuser-Busch founding partner for 65 years, Keep America Beautiful has long-supported this initiative by facilitating countless recycling, litter cleanup and other community projects with Anheuser-Busch.
