Unfortunately, these articles completely overlook the positive economic impact of this activity on the United States economy. The reality is that recycling in the United States is a vibrant activity and a key driver in domestic and global manufacturing, supplying more than 130 million tons annually of scrap metals, paper, electronics, plastics, rubber, glass and textiles for manufacture into new products.
