AVA Digital Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand production, marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, and freelance professionals. AMCP administers recognition programs, provides judges, and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession. In the past, about 16 percent of entries won Platinum, the top award, and around 19 percent the Gold Award. Approximately 10 percent were Honorable Mention winners.
In the MarCom competition, there were over 6,000 entries from 41 countries in the MarCom Awards 2021 competition. MarCom’s Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. Platinum Winners are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. About 17 percent won this award.
Communitas awards honor excellence in community service and social responsibility. Judges found that the virtual event exhibited the spirit of communitas, a Latin word that means people coming together for the good of a community. Communitas nominees are evaluated based on the extent and effectiveness of their program. Communitas Awards began in 2010 as an outgrowth of the pro bono recognition program of the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, a several-thousand-member group that honors creative achievement and fosters partnerships with charities and community organizations.
