In 2021, Keep Georgia Beautiful affiliates recovered over 103 million pounds of recyclable materials. Building its directory of collectors, brokers, processors and end users, KGB actively supports the development of the market for recyclable materials. By promoting the coalition of recycling vendors and growing their service communities, the number of professionals needed in the community grows, providing well-paying jobs that make a difference.

In addition, the affiliate works all year hard to stay in touch with their volunteers, offering a free newsletter sign-up to their “Green Beat” and free recycling resource downloads.

In their efforts to ‘close the loop,’ Keep Georgia Beautiful promotes recycling within their communities by focusing on the benefits of the practice. They note that “Recycling saves energy, conserves natural resources, and avoids landfills. It also stimulates our local economy.” Another fun fact about recycling: did you know that Georgia has the second-largest infrastructure for recycling manufacturing in the country? It’s true!
