Keep High Point Beautiful joins local police and fire personnel to show appreciation for hard working community members.

Keep High Point Beautiful in High Point, North Carolina, partnered with local police and fire departments for its second annual city-wide litter cleanup and beautification event, Summer Trash Smash. Keep High Point Beautiful worked with over 40 police and fire personnel, who drove through neighborhoods on the lookout to catch people “green-handed.” During the event, more than $1,000 in gift cards from local businesses were distributed to 185 residents for their efforts ranging from picking up litter in the street to beautifying the exterior of their home or property.

The event had 28 sponsors and donors, including: Applebee’s, The Biscuit Factory, Biscuitville, Blue Zucchini & Company, Bojangles, Carter Brothers, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, East Coast Wings & Grill, Food Lion, Giannos, Harris Teeter, J&S Cafeterias, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Liberty, Little Caesar’s, McAlister’s Deli, McDonald’s, Moe’s, Mrs. Winner’s, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse, Pancho Villa, Panera, Spiro’s, Sumela, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza and University Kitchen.

Keep High Point Beautiful also said the event resulted in hundreds of smiles, and they plan to make next year’s event even bigger.
