Keep Indian River Beautiful (KIRB) partnered with 25 volunteers from Key Club and Kiwanis to help create a beautiful sanctuary for The Arc, an Indian County, Florida, agency that has been improving the lives of individuals with special needs and their families for more than 40 years.

Keep Indian River Beautiful, a Keep America Beautiful affiliate in Vero Beach, Florida, and their volunteers helped create a beautiful sanctuary for disabled citizens at their permanent living facility.

They created a sensory garden to engage their minds, a pollinator garden to inspire their imagination, and a peaceful place to call home.

Volunteers enjoyed working alongside the residents and the residents blossomed as a valued part of our community.

The mission of The Arc is to provide comprehensive services for over 200 individuals (age 18 and above) with special needs, including adult day training, behavioral services, residential group homes, supported living, and supported employment, among other services.

All efforts were supported by a Keep America Beautiful/Lowe’s Community Partners Grant.
