Keep Oakland Beautiful celebrates Earth Day with cleanup events.

On Oakland Earth Day, Keep Oakland Beautiful in California partnered on three cleanup events in Courtland Creek Park, Jingletown District, and Arroyo Viejo Park, which was organized with We Lead Ours & Friends.

More than 50 volunteers in Jingletown filled a dumpster with trash – as well as separated out green waste. The volunteers at this location also painted over graffiti on the White Elephant Building. The wall, which spans an entire block, is now covered in a mural from end to end. There is also a garden path in front of the wall, which has since become a neighborhood attraction.

Volunteers at the other locations participated in activities including gardening, removing litter, storm drain cleaning and weeding.
