While it might be an evening of “recycled fashion,” there’s nothing unfashionable about it!

Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB) recently celebrated another successful “Trash 2 Trends” annual fundraiser, bringing the fashion and art of local artists together with the environmental community to promote sustainability in an innovative way. The show features local fashion designers who created runway looks from items headed to the landfill. Other people’s “trash” (recyclables) is KOB’s sustainable — and highly creative — high fashion.

Jody Buyas, who coordinates “Trash 2 Trends” as the executive director of KOB, was quoted in an Orlando Weekly article that the inspiration behind the fundraising program comes from “bringing art, fashion and sustainability all together in an innovative way to help bring awareness to Keep Orlando Beautiful and the way we think about trash.”
