Jaspar, Ga. – Keep Pickens Beautiful is among the many Keep America Beautiful affiliates in Georgia that participates in Keep Georgia Beautiful’s “Bring One for the Chipper,” the annual statewide Christmas tree recycling program.

The Chipper program involves hundreds of Georgia communities and thousands of volunteers. Since its inception, the program has recycled an estimated 6 million Christmas trees. The mulch from these trees has been used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards.

For its part, Keep Pickens Beautiful reported an estimated 140 Christmas trees were recycled into mulch this year. The Georgia State Law prohibits citizens from putting Christmas trees into landfills.
