Q: How long have you worked for Keep America Beautiful?

A: I have been with Keep America Beautiful since February 2024, but I have been volunteering with the organization through various affiliates including Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. I have been volunteering for the mission since 2000!

One of my proudest memories is winning a Youth of the Year award from Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful in 2015.

Q: Where are you located?

A: Macon, Georgia area

Q:  What do you do for Keep America Beautiful?

A: I am the Director of Corporate Initiatives

Q: What does beauty mean to you?

A: Beauty to me means Civic Pride. A beautiful community is one where neighbors help neighbors from all different capacities. Funders making great work happen, local governments working with volunteer groups to create community spaces, and local citizens helping to prevent litter by cleaning the spaces that mean the most to them.

Q: What three words describe how you feel about your work?

A: The work that I get to do makes me feel inspired, ignites passion, and creates a sense of purpose.

Q: What was the most rewarding/inspiring project you’ve worked on or been a part of?

A: A project that l am most proud of is when I was able to create a streetscape of flowerpots in a creative district in the City of York, PA. It was a small investment that created a large impact, and created a beautiful streetscape in the Royal Square Arts District.

Q: What is the strangest piece of litter you’ve ever collected?

A: The strangest piece of litter that I have ever collected was a wedding veil.

Q: When you’re not doing beautiful things, what are you doing?

A: When I am not doing beautiful things, I am trying to travel to as many places as I can, pretending to dance like I know how, and researching how creatives are changing the world!

Q: What’s a piece of advice you’ve been given while doing this work?

A: Something that I have learned in making the world a more beautiful place is that the little things matter. It’s the little things that spark the engine that drives the largest changes.
