In celebration of Earth Day 2022, the GIANT Company partnered with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful and Keep Centre County Beautiful to refurbish the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority’s compost demonstration site.

Working together, the team beautified the area, adding raised pollinator garden beds, building embankment stabilization, planting juniper shrubs and mulching throughout.

In addition to their beautification efforts, Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful works hard all year long to increase the availability of convenient, safe and affordable disposal for common household items that are frequently a challenge to recycle, including tires, household hazardous waste, electronics and appliances.

All across the state, Pennsylvania affiliates work with their local solid waste and recycling partners to support and promote recycling, as well as to prevent waste materials from being dumped illegally. Having the opportunity to beautify the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority’s compost demonstration site was a perfect match for all!
