Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Recognized as Top Nonprofit/Community Organization Volunteer Program

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB), located in Reno, Nevada, received the top honor as the best volunteer program for nonprofit/community organizations as part of the annual Nevada Volunteers Governor’s Points of Light Award celebration on Oct. 18.

KTMB was nominated by Patagonia, which has a distribution center in Reno.

The nomination read: KTMB “encourages individuals to make lasting changes by cleaning up parks and open spaces, recycling and providing STEM education to youth. In the last year, 4,330 people volunteered 15,432 hours to remove 190,930 pounds of trash, recycle over 10,000 Christmas trees, and plant 3,600 flowers.” 

The other two organizations that received nominations were American Cancer Society – Road to Recovery and ESL In-Home Program of Northern Nevada.
