Volunteers from Liberty Mutual and Liberty International Underwriters worked with Keep Chicago Beautiful to prepare a Chicago community garden for spring planting season!

The Liberty Mutual and Liberty International Underwriters volunteers worked on May 10 with Keep Chicago Beautiful and the Chicago Park District to plant gardens and prep beds at Skinner Park Community Roots Garden.

They planted a perennial garden along the border of the space, as well as a sensory garden which houses plants that are interesting to touch, smell and view.

The sensory garden will be used as part of the park’s youth education program. After planting the gardens, volunteers helped to turn over soil in the raised garden beds used by community members.

The Skinner Park Community Roots Garden service project was part of the Serve with Liberty program. Keep America Beautiful and its community-based Affiliate Network are proud to work with Liberty Mutual and Liberty International Underwriters on many of these important community improvement initiatives.
